WHO WE ARE
Rural Cameroon Self Reliance Development Organization (RUCADEV) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2012. RUCADEV was created by Chief Robert N. Forlemu after observing and experiencing the demise inflicted on rural areas in Cameroon in general and on on Mmuock village in particular, as a result of dwindling economic opportunities and development.
RUCADEV has been providing portable water, educational facilities and support for Self-Reliant Economic Activities to local Communities in Cameroon. The founders and supporters of RUCADEV include Americans of Cameroon origin and other US born citizens with the main goal of assuaging these overwhelming burdens.
OUR MISSION
RUCADEV’s mission is to raise funds, coordinate technical, moral, educational economic development tools that will help meet some basic needs on these communities including: clean safe and potable water, medical facilities, improved educational structures and resources.
RUCADEV also strives to create a spirit of self-reliance and entrepreneurship where possible through micro-finance assistance to improve subsistent farming, which is the sole means of income in these rural communities.
These burdens in rural communities disproportionately affect women, and children and we strongly believe that educating and assisting them is the best way to develop these rural communities, unleash their innate abilities while kicking out misery and poverty.
Inhabitants of local communities in Cameroon need your help to have portable water, educational and health facilities, and to develop self-reliant economic activities

Our Projects
Portable Water Project
The portable water project is our top priority at the moment given that the majority ailments and deaths of young children in the region is due to the lack of clean and safe drinking water. We build portable water facilities to bring water to local communities.
Women Empowerment and Development Fund
About 56% of the population of M’muock Fosimondi is female and the majority of children drop out after primary school. We therefore educate and sensitize them on how to improve their lives and become change-makers in their communities.
Church Building Fund
The visiting missionaries from the Basel mission in 1954 exposed the people of Mmuock Fosimondi to worship in 1954. We are supporting local Churches to build Church buildings.
Education, Scholarship, and Children Library Fund
We believe that a nurturing classroom atmosphere, with appropriate resources is essential to unlocking a child’s full potential.
Agricultural Support Fund
We provide seed funding to local farmers in need, so that they can support their agricultural activities that feed them and their communities. This is an effort to end hunger and suffering.
Capacity Building and Empowerment
We partner with experts to train youths and local farmers on best farming practices to help them achieve the best results. We also educate them on how to start and develop local business activities that will boost their economic capacity.
